• Otumfuo Osei Tutu II: “I’ve Already Blessed You, Grandson!”

In a historic moment for the Ashanti Kingdom, Hon. Alan Kyerematen, the presidential candidate of the Afrafranto Alliance, was warmly welcomed by the revered Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, during a courtesy visit at the Manhyia Palace on October 2, 2024. This visit marks the launch of Kyerematen’s ambitious 21-day Caravan Campaign Tour in the Ashanti Region, ahead of the much-anticipated December 7 general elections.

With excitement in the air, Kyerematen introduced his youthful and dynamic running mate, Kwame Owusu Danso, a man of many talents—a former musician, footballer, lawyer, and broadcast journalist. “This choice wasn’t just random,” Kyerematen stated. “It’s about preparing the next generation for leadership.”

The atmosphere at the palace was electric, with traditional rulers praising Kyerematen’s relentless dedication to the nation. They showered him with blessings, expressing unwavering confidence in his ability to steer the country towards prosperity through his Great Transformational Plan (GTP).

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II was effusive in his praise. “You are humble and visionary, and you truly understand our nation’s challenges,” the Asantehene declared, urging Kyerematen to ensure Ghanaians grasp the importance of his ambitious GTP for sustainable growth.

But the most memorable moment came when the King announced, “I have already blessed you.” His words echoed through the halls, solidifying Kyerematen’s support as a “true grandson” of the Asante Kingdom. “Why would I not support my grandson if he’s contesting for the presidency?” the Asantehene said, leaving no doubt about his backing.

Kyerematen, a royal from Ejisu and a direct descendant of the legendary Yaa Asantewaa, carries a deep connection to the Asante culture. His late father, Alexander Atta Yaw Kyerematen, was instrumental in preserving the heritage of the Asante people, further solidifying Alan’s place as a son of the soil.

The endorsement from Otumfuo has sent ripples across the Ashanti Region, igniting excitement among the electorate. As Kyerematen’s campaign caravan rolls into town, the atmosphere is charged with anticipation. With the Asantehene’s blessing and overwhelming local support, the Ashanti Region is ready to stand behind Kyerematen in his quest for the presidency.

Will this endorsement pave the way for a historic victory? Only time will tell, but one thing’s for sure—Alan Kyerematen is in the race to win!
