The Chief Executive of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), Julius Neequaye Kotey, and his Deputy, Forster Akwasi Asante, Esq., have paid an unannounced working visit to the Meridian Port Services (MPS) branch of the DVLA.

The visit aimed to familiarize themselves with the branch’s operations and to gather firsthand information on the challenges faced by staff in executing their duties. This engagement aligns with the Authority’s commitment to ensuring efficiency and continuous improvement in service delivery.

As part of their visit, the delegation also paid a courtesy call on the Terminal Manager of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA), Madam Angela Tawiah. She was accompanied by some of her senior staff and took the opportunity to brief the DVLA officials on the need for a robust system to enhance operational efficiency. She further emphasized the importance of aligning DVLA’s working hours with port operations to ensure seamless service delivery.

In response, Lawyer Asante assured Madam Tawiah of the DVLA’s plans to implement the 24-hour economy vision of the President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama. He emphasized that this initiative would significantly enhance customer service and streamline operations within the port environment.

Recognizing the critical role played by stakeholders in the transportation and logistics sector, the DVLA leadership reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining a strong and collaborative relationship with the MPS management. They pledged to uphold best practices to secure and optimize operations at the branch.

The CEO, Julius Neequaye Kotey, commended the staff at the MPS branch for their dedication and hard work. He assured them of management’s continuous support in creating a safer and more conducive working environment while ensuring that employees remain motivated to effectively deliver on their mandate.
