Kwaku Skirt kneeling in the crowd to clean Mahama's shoe

America-based Ghanaian Chief Executive and host of Apple 68 FM, Kwaku Skirt was taped on video struggling to worship the shoes of former President John Dramani Mahama.

In the video and photos that have now gone viral since hitting the internet, the avid supporter of the former president  could be seen kneeling before the shoes and shining  them to partake in a photo opportunity  with the former flagbearer of the opposition  National Democratic Congress in Virginia, USA.

This came barely a week after Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was seriously back-lashed, booed and taunted off stage when he decided to join the youth of his country at the 2022 Global Citizen Festival held at the Black Star Square (Independence Square).

“Ladies and gentlemen, I extend a hearty Akwaaba, our word of welcome, from a very hospitable people. To all of you, who have come from afar and wide, to our vibrant city of Accra, Ghana’s capital, to join us on this great occasion.” His Excellency was explaining  the impact of climate change and the Russian-Ukraine war on the economy of Ghana and the world.

Before the of his speech, he was greeted with a massive booed while others chanted ‘away!’.

Meanwhile, appointees of President Akufo-Addo and officers of opposition NDC are immersed in a debate over what actually transpired at the concert.

Speaking for government, Deputy Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mark Okraku Mantey, the President was cheered for his massive work in the midst of the twin challenges of the world.

But Sammy Gyamfi, the National Communication Officer of the NDC thinks, the booing represented the frustration and hopelessness planted in the youth by the Akufi-Addo led administration.
