Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa
Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, former Deputy Education Minister and Member of Parliament for North Tongu, has announced that he will persist in his exposés even if the National Democratic Congress (NDC) emerges victorious in the 2024 general elections. This declaration serves as a clear signal to his fellow party members that he remains unwavering in his commitment to exposing corrupt government officials within his own party.
The North Tongu legislator emphasized that he will not spare any government officials, regardless of their political affiliation, if they are involved in corrupt practices during the NDC’s administration.
Ablakwa’s decision to leave the Appointments Committee was motivated by his dedication as a “conviction politician.” He made it clear that when he strongly believes in a matter, he will stand up for it, regardless of the potential consequences.
In his view, politics should not serve as a platform for an elite few to engage in corrupt activities. He stressed the importance of ensuring that politics does not devolve into a mechanism for enriching a select few at the expense of the public.
Mr. Okudzeto Ablakwa claimed that his exposés have uncovered corruption valued at GHc 6.8 billion over the years. He has been instrumental in releasing documents related to various government projects, including those concerning the National Cathedral, the Bank of Ghana’s new headquarters, and the Ghana Airports.
His resolute commitment to transparency and accountability continues to be a defining aspect of his political career, transcending party lines in his pursuit of a more transparent and equitable government.
