Kwame Asare Obeng, widely known in showbiz as Kwame A Plus, and an aspiring Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central, has delivered a pointed message to Atinka FM, making it clear why he is declining their upcoming debate invitation. In a candid Facebook post, he stated that participating in the debate would not benefit his campaign and asserted that he wields more influence than the station itself.

“Your debate will not impact my campaign and won’t provide any benefit to me. In fact, Kwame A Plus has a larger following than Atinka FM!” he declared, emphasizing that his presence on their platform would primarily serve to attract sponsors and generate revenue for the station. “You need me, I don’t!” he insisted.

Kwame A Plus also revealed his commitment to partnering with the Becks Glaucoma Foundation to celebrate World Glaucoma Day in Gomoa Ekwamkrom, coinciding with the scheduled debate. “I will be conducting eye screenings to address various conditions, particularly glaucoma, and providing free medications to those in need,” he explained, highlighting his dedication to public health over political theatrics.

The independent candidate for Gomoa Central did not hesitate to address past grievances with the station, stating, “Your station is owned by Tobinco Pharmaceuticals Limited. Previously, when I requested medications for a free health screening in my constituency, you asked for payment. After I complied, you sent me Viagra and Mr. Q.” He made it clear that he would only consider participating in the debate if Atinka FM agreed to provide free medications for the urgent needs of inmates at Osamkrom Prison Camp.

Kwame’s message also underscores his rising prominence in the political arena. “Those individuals featured on your flyer were relatively unknown until I entered the race. But for me, who knew about Kwame Dean or Naana Eyiah? My involvement has brought them attention, which they have not compensated me for. I will not continue to give them free exposure without receiving something of significant value in return.”

For Kwame, any potential collaboration with Atinka FM hinges on their willingness to support his health initiative. “Please let me know if you are willing to provide medications to the Gomoa Osamkrom Prison Camp. If not, I must respectfully decline,” he stated firmly.

With this bold stance, Kwame positions himself not only as a serious contender in the political landscape but also as a committed advocate for health and well-being in his community. His message sends a clear signal that he prioritizes substance over spectacle in his campaign.
