Kweku Owusu Adoumi (Wanowano)

It’s the second major departure of a Network Broadcasting journalist after Samuel Eshun resigned from the Laterbiokorshie based Radio Station just days ago.

Incontrovertible report reaching this portal is that another seasoned  presenter Kweku Owusu Adoumi known on radio as ‘Kweku Wanowano’ has left Gold Power Sports of Radio Gold.

The reasons for his departure are sketchy.  A staff of the power station declined to comment.

Unlike Eshun, Wanowano has not commented on his resignation.

This would be the second time in the month of December that Radio Gold has been rocked by an unhappy departure. As this portal previously reported, Samuel Eshun left the network’s morning show dubbed Gold Power Drive for similar reasons.

Radio Gold has for the past seven months been broadcasting via new media without salary.

It’s been known for a long time that the President’s party is not a fan of Radio Gold. And, in turn, the socialist network is a fan of his opponent, often running critical stories about his administration considered anti-government.

The National Communication Authority (NCA) has abruptly clamped down on two pro-opposition radio stations while broadcasting live a presser by the national council of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) with fully armed police escort.

The Authorizing body has alleged that the two stations were heavily indebted to the Authority for non-renewal of their authorization.

Radio Gold has since the closure been broadcasting via social media. Radio XYZ started the online broadcast but must cut short and move to Power FM.

All attempts by the owners, parliament and some members of the ruling party to get the Minister for Communication, Ursula Owusu to rescind her decision to keep the station offline has proven futile.
