NPP lawmaker Vincent Ekow Assafuah has issued a fiery warning to party members—stop defending former officials caught with their hands in the cookie jar!
His message comes amid the explosive scandal surrounding Kwabena Adu-Boahene, the embattled ex-director General of the National Signals Bureau (NSB), who stands accused of embezzling a staggering GHC39 million in state funds and laundering over $2 million into real estate schemes in Accra and abroad.
Speaking on JoyNews’ AM Show on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, the Old Tafo MP made it clear that no one in the NPP should waste time shielding those proven guilty of looting state coffers.
“I am warning party persons—if this is proven, please don’t go and defend it because we are building a nation,” Assafuah declared, signalling a shift away from blind party loyalty when it comes to corruption.
The bombshell allegations against Adu-Boahene were laid bare by Attorney General Dr. Dominic Ayine on Monday, March 24, 2025. He detailed how the former NSB boss allegedly diverted millions meant for a cyber defence project into personal luxury properties in Haatso-Atomic and overseas.
The scandal has sent shockwaves through political circles, with public calls growing louder for a ruthless crackdown on corruption within the ruling party.
With the case now in court, the big question is—will the NPP take Assafuah’s advice and let Adu-Boahene face the music, or will party loyalists rally behind him despite the damning allegations?
One thing is certain—Ghanaians are watching, and they won’t tolerate another cover-up!
