Franklin Cudjoe, co-founder of policy think tank Imani Africa, has taken to social media to deliver a scathing critique of the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia administration, while praising the economic performance of the incoming NDC government.
In a post on his timeline, Cudjoe highlighted key macroeconomic achievements under the NDC’s tenure, pointing to “59 ministers delivering single-digit inflation, fastest debt reduction, lowest policy rate ever, and a positive rating.”
He contrasted this with the previous administration’s record, noting that “120 ministers = 54%,” a clear dig at what he described as inefficiency and underperformance under the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia government.
Cudjoe’s remarks come amid growing debate over Ghana’s economic direction, as political parties square off on claims of who is best equipped to manage public finances. The think-tank co-founder’s post was widely shared, sparking heated discussions on social media about governance, ministerial efficiency, and economic management.
Economic analysts say such comparisons highlight ongoing frustrations with the scale and perceived effectiveness of government machinery, especially regarding debt management, inflation control, and interest rates.
Cudjoe concluded his post with a pointed message: “Continue…” leaving followers to interpret the implied critique of the outgoing administration while signalling optimism for the NDC-led government.
