A collective effort by several influential organizations is set to ignite a day of hope and healing in Abura, Cape Coast, as the Get Out Of Depression (GOOD) Foundation joins hands with Smile Fun House, Curious Minds, Biniiba Foundation, Smile Time Foundation, and the University of Ghana Medical Student’s Association. Their collaborative endeavor, “Hearts Ablaze: A Day of Hope and Healing,” aims to shed light on mental health concerns and foster a supportive community.
Scheduled for December 23rd, 2023, at the Human Service Trust near Marnico Guest House, the event will kick off at 10:00 a.m., promising an enriching, educational, and uplifting experience for all attendees.
At the heart of this initiative lies the collective mission to address mental health issues prevalent in the community. By extending support, knowledge, and resources, the event aims to reach out to individuals experiencing various mental health challenges, aiming to dispel stigma while promoting understanding and empathy.
“Hearts Ablaze” will offer a comprehensive lineup of activities, including mental health education, art therapy sessions tailored for children aged seven to sixteen, and sessions focusing on sexual reproductive health. These sessions aim to holistically address well-being, offering resources and support to those in need.
Understanding the intrinsic link between mental and physical health, the GOOD Foundation plans health screening sessions to promote overall health awareness, reinforcing the importance of holistic well-being.
Moreover, discussions centered on personal development will empower participants, equipping them with resilience and effective coping mechanisms for their well-being.
Bringing the community together, the event will conclude with interactive sessions and enjoyable games, fostering a spirit of togetherness and mutual support among attendees.
The GOOD Foundation and its partners extend an open invitation to the Abura community, urging locals to participate in this transformative event. By creating a more understanding and supportive environment, the collective hopes to advocate for mental health awareness and support for individuals within the town.
