In a refreshing twist, Manasseh Azure Awuni, an outspoken critic of Zoomlion and anything Jospong, has revealed through a Facebook post that Greater Accra Regional Minister Linda Akweley Ocloo is actually all ears when it comes to public feedback. A week after Awuni’s blistering article lambasted Ocloo’s announcement of a new partnership with sanitation giants accused of monopolising national contracts without delivering results, the minister surprised everyone by reaching out directly.
“I was moved by the reaction to my recent piece and braced myself for the usual angry call or text,” Awuni said. “But Linda Ocloo did something different—she got in touch, saying she had read my article and taken note of the concerns I raised.”
Known for his fiery pen, Awuni pointed out that while jotting down notes is one thing, turning them into action is quite another. Yet, it was heart-warming to see our leaders finally prepared to listen—a quality he believes was championed by former President John Mahama during his first term.
This unexpected gesture from Minister Ocloo is being hailed as a breath of fresh air in a time when many politicians are accused of turning a deaf ear to criticism. It not only underscores a posture of humility but also hints at a potential shift towards more responsive governance in the region.
