NCT Biochemical Manufacturing Company Limited, in collaboration with Three Dreamer Manufacturing, has come out swinging to trash allegations against Okwahuhene, Daasebre Akumoah Agyapong II, labelling them as outright falsehoods.
The fiery rebuttal comes in response to claims that Daasebre Akumoah personally pocketed payments for land acquired by NCT for a cassava plantation intended to feed an under-construction ethanol processing factory in Kwahu. The company’s management minced no words in describing the reports as malicious and baseless.
Bismark Offei-Ansah, the spokesperson for NCT Biochemical and Three Dreamer, set the record straight. “Let me be clear: Daasebre Akuamoah Agyapong II never took any money from us. These claims are outright lies and deserve nothing but contempt,” he declared.
He explained that all financial transactions related to the land were handled through an agent representing the traditional authority, not directly with the Okwahuhene. “We agreed on a total of three million Ghana cedis (GH¢3,000,000) for the 35 acres of farmland The first payment of two million Ghana cedis was made via cheque to the agent, Empire Hardware Limited, while the remaining one million was paid through the same channel by Three Dreamer Manufacturing,” Offei-Ansah revealed.
According to Offei-Ansah, Daasebre’s primary focus was creating job opportunities for the youth of Kwahu. “Daasebre went above and beyond, granting us working authority through the Okwahu Traditional Council. This allowed us to start operations on the land without any hindrance,” he added.
But shockwaves hit the project when Nana Asiedu Kwabeng IV, the Akyeamehene of Okwawu—who had originally facilitated the land deal—suddenly led efforts to obstruct the project. “The most shocking part is that we fulfilled all traditional obligations, including paying GH¢60,000 as ‘akwantwadie’ and gifting the Akyeamehene a brand-new motorbike,” Offei-Ansah lamented.
He didn’t hold back in calling out detractors for their attempts to derail development in Okwahu. “The fabrications aimed at tarnishing Daasebre’s reputation and stalling progress are disgraceful,” he said, urging the public to ignore such distractions.
NCT Biochemical and Three Dreamer remain unwavering in their commitment to the cassava processing factory project, which promises to boost local employment and drive economic growth in the area.
The companies called on the media and stakeholders to focus on community development and stop amplifying baseless accusations meant to serve the interests of saboteurs.
“Our goal is to create jobs for the youth and support the Okwahumanhene’s vision of a better future for Okwahu. We’re here to make a difference, not to entertain needless drama,” Offei-Ansah concluded.
