The Ghana Police Service has landed us—and likely others—in a rather embarrassing spot with their outdated website. In our recent Wenchi MTTD feature, we did our due diligence, sourcing an image of the MTTD Director General directly from their official site. But it seems the Police Service has left outdated images on their website, showing COP Winfred Boahen Frimpong – a retired officer – as the MTTD head.
The oversight became obvious after COP Frimpong himself flagged the error, gently nudging us to update our story with the right image of the current commander.
One might wonder: if the Ghana Police Service is tasked with keeping our streets safe, shouldn’t they also be vigilant about keeping their public information accurate? In a world where news moves at the speed of light, these gaffes could damage the credibility of news outlets who rely on official channels.
So, here’s hoping the Ghana Police Service gives their website a little TLC. Because next time, we’d prefer to focus on delivering the real story, not cleaning up after an online blunder!
