Shirley Ayorkor Botchway, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration

Shirley Ayorkor Botchway, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration has told New Patriotic Party fans in plain language to stop their incessant complains and convert their anger and frustration against the party to work against the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in 2020.

“Ghanaians, especially members of the New Patriotic Party complain too much. Stop complaining. You talk too much: ‘I’ve not gotten anything’, would you get anything if your party isn’t in office?”, she asked

Quoting former President Agyekum Kufour to buttress her claim, the Anyaa Sowutuom Lawmaker, said ‘You have more honour as a messenger in a party in power than a senior official such as a General Secretary of a party in opposition’.

“You’re able to approach high profile persons like ministers and government appointees today because your party is in government. Your children attend school free of charge. Even if you are personally not benefitting from the Free SHS, your nephew or niece or some relative is enjoying it’.

Ayorkor Botchway made the asserted in Accra on Sunday while addressing National Delegates’ Conference composed of National, Regional, Constituency Executives, Elders and other members from across the country.

“Don’t let the members of National Democratic Congress (NDC) dampen your spirits. Don’t allow that because the party you belong to and the one leading us is no mean a person”, she claimed.

“Reject the assertion by NDC supporter you got nothing from the party. In return, ask them what they got from NDC in all the eight years they did in power’.

According the minister, “Ghana never had a president like Nana Akufo-Addo before”,

“our President is no mean a person. You would not appreciate the weight of the President until you travel outside.

“I’m respected all over the world as Ghana’s Minister of Foreign Affairs not because of any clout of mine but because of the respect the international community has for President Nana Akufo-Addo. At UN, AU and ECOWAS meetings, everybody yield to whatever President Akufo-Addo says.

Ghana is today enjoying a lot of goodwill internationally because of the respect the world has for President Akufo-Addo”, she noted.
