Talk about having your cake and eating it too! TDC’s very own Internal Auditor, Samuel Godsway Abutiate, has pulled off the land deal of the century—bagging a plush Sakumono plot for a jaw-dropping bargain price of GHS88,760, while the rest of Ghana struggles to afford land at $350,000 (GHS4.6 million)! And if that’s not cheeky enough, guess when he got the approval? December 31, 2024—just in time for a New Year’s toast!

INSIDE JOB? THE “AUDITOR’S BONUS” DEAL!
Leaked documents show Abutiate applied for the prime land on December 5, 2024, and—like magic—his request sailed through in just 26 days! A suspiciously swift process, all neatly signed off by TDC Managing Director Alice Abena Ofori-Atta.

Here’s the breakdown of his too-good-to-be-true deal:
✔ Land Management Fee – GHS87,400
✔ First Year’s Ground Rent – GHS1,360
✔ Total Payment – GHS88,760

For context, the real market value of the land sits at around GHS4.6 million—but Abutiate got his for just 2% of that! If that’s not a sweet deal, we don’t know what is!

TDC OR OLD BOYS’ CLUB?
While hardworking Ghanaians slave away to afford a plot, TDC officials seem to be running a “mates-rates” system—where insiders walk away with prime land for peanuts! And Abutiate, the very man supposed to be policing the finances of TDC, has somehow found himself on the receiving end of a deal that smells fishier than Jamestown on a Monday morning.

THE BIG QUESTIONS:
Was this a deliberate giveaway of state land to an insider?
How many other TDC officials have grabbed land at ridiculous prices?
Will President Mahama’s government take action or look the other way?

PUBLIC FURY!
The streets are talking, and people are fuming. “How does the man who’s supposed to stop fraud in TDC end up benefitting from the biggest one?” a furious land developer told The Hawk.
Ghanaians are demanding a full-blown probe into TDC’s land allocations—because if insiders are grabbing millions worth of land for pennies, what’s next? Free mansions?

For now, Abutiate may be enjoying his luxury plot—but the heat is on, and the people want answers!
