A massive land racket has rocked the Tema Development Corporation (TDC), with Al-Mumin Yakubu, the General Manager of Finance and Administration, at the centre of a shocking giveaway of prime lands to his cronies!
The Concerned Youth of Tema has exposed what they call a brazen land grab, accusing Yakubu and his inner circle of slashing land prices and handing out prime plots for next to nothing.
According to the group, lands valued between $350,000 and $500,000 are being flogged for as low as GHS88,760 in what they describe as a fraudulent “promotional sale.”
“How does a plot worth hundreds of thousands of dollars suddenly get sold for peanuts?” a furious spokesperson fumed. “Yakubu and his cabal are treating TDC’s land like their personal inheritance!”
The youth insist that Yakubu has no authority to approve land sales, pointing out that there is no substantive Managing Director at TDC, and the Board has not sanctioned any such transactions.
“This man is illegally positioning himself as MD, signing off shady deals with no approval,” they lashed out. “It’s daylight robbery, pure and simple!”
Backing their claims, the group revealed a damning land allocation letter issued to one Samuel Godsway Abutiate, confirming the sale of a 0.47-acre commercial plot in Sakumono for just GHS88,760!
The document, dated 5th December 2024, has further fueled suspicions that Yakubu and his allies are running a well-oiled land-grabbing syndicate.
The Concerned Youth of Tema has now issued a rallying cry for immediate investigations, vowing to expose and prosecute every official involved in the shady deals.
“This isn’t over! We will hunt down every single thief in this cabal and ensure they pay for this grand looting of public lands!” they declared.
With public anger boiling over, pressure is mounting on the TDC Board and government to take swift action before one of the biggest land scams in Tema’s history spirals further out of control!
