Honorable Ophelia Mensah, the current Member of Parliament representing the Mfantseman Constituency, has officially submitted her nomination forms to contest the upcoming parliamentary primaries. Urging unwavering support from all party loyalists to secure the seat for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), she confidently stated her readiness to retain the constituency for the party in the crucial 2024 elections.

In a significant move on Monday, December 25th, 2023, Madam Ophelia Mensah, accompanied by esteemed Chiefs, religious leaders including Imams and Pastors, the incumbent Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Kenneth Kelly Essuman, former MCE Hon. Quainoo Arthur, Council of Elders and Patrons, current and past Constituency Executives, Electoral Area Coordinators, Polling Station Executives, party members, and numerous well-wishers, filed her nominations via a Facebook post.

Reflecting on her achievements, Madam Ophelia Mensah underscored several milestones accomplished during her tenure. She emphasized substantial strides in education, citing financial aid for over 200 tertiary students, graduate study scholarships, and the facilitation of 40 youth into teaching roles within the Ghana Education Service (GES).

The MP highlighted significant infrastructural development in the constituency, including the construction of markets, lorry parks, new roads, refurbishment of feeder roads, expansion of electricity to burgeoning areas, and the installation of over 3000 streetlights, enhancing visibility and bolstering security.

Concerning healthcare, she stressed her pivotal role in spearheading the ongoing construction of a modern Accident and Emergency Center at the Saltpond Government Hospital, aimed at providing critical emergency care for accident victims and those in need of urgent medical attention.

Madam Ophelia Mensah also emphasized her commitment to addressing water scarcity by drilling boreholes, supplying polytanks to communities for water storage, and constructing community centers for over 20 communities, among other initiatives.

Furthermore, she proudly declared her support in aiding over 60 youth to secure positions in various security services, showcasing her dedication to human resource development within the constituency.

Acknowledging the multifaceted role of an MP, she emphasized her dual responsibility of lawmaking and community development, underlining her successful endeavors in both domains.

As she embarks on her campaign journey for the 2024 elections, Madam Ophelia Mensah extends an invitation for collective action, rallying supporters to unite and work together toward retaining the Mfantseman seat for the NPP.
