• IGP Dampare Gets a Dressing-Down from Nitiwul

Former Defence Minister Dominic Nitiwul has taken a swipe at Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, warning him to ditch his “crowd-pleasing” ways and start leading with authority.

Speaking on Asaasepa FM, Nitiwul didn’t hold back, slamming Dampare’s leadership as weak and damaging to the police service.

“I’ve worked with him for over three years. He needs to be bold and loyal. Running the police with crowd-pleasing tactics will only destroy the service,” Nitiwul fired.

The ex-minister claims even those who once backed Dampare are now fed up.
“At first, people wanted him as IGP, but not anymore. Many in the NPP are unhappy, and even NDC members say the same,” he revealed.

And the warning was clear—if Dampare doesn’t change course, he could find himself isolated when he leaves office.

“If he carries on like this, when he retires, he won’t even have friends to invite anywhere,” Nitiwul added.

His comments come after the IGP was spotted playing draughts with NDC’s Appiah Stadium. While some saw it as a PR stunt, others questioned if he’s too distracted from the real job at hand.

Dampare, appointed by ex-President Akufo-Addo, is now facing heat from both sides. Will he toughen up, or will his legacy be one of lost support? Time will tell.
