The people of Krowor (Nungua) Constituency in the Greater Accra Region have described the Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo 1D1F in the area as ‘shameful’.

In a statement to TheHawkGhana.com by the leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the area described Akufo-Addo as President resulted in commissioning a 40ft container kiosk believed to be Ice -Block Making Plant as his 1D1F during his visit to the constituency as part of his Greater Accra Region working tour last Tuesday December 4, 2018.

Accord to the statement, signed by the Constituency Communication Officer, Albert Kotey the Commissioned container kiosk which left inhabitants disappointed, was boycotted by the fishermen who felt ‘disrespected’ by the President and the Member of Parliament for the area, Elizabeth Afoley Quaye.

He indicated that the pomp and pageantry which preceded the commissioning of the 1D1F container kiosk did not meet the expectations of the people.

The NDC Krowor Communication Officer hinted that the fisher folks were also promised a fish processing plant ran up to the 2016 general elections but Nana Akufo-Addo and his MP end up opening a kiosk as 1D1F for the area.

The Krowor (Nungua) MP, Madam Afoley Quaye elicited that the people might not petronise the event, this she quickly bused people from different constituencies to grace the occasion, Kotey alleged.

The Communication Officer further alleged that as usual of President Akufo-Addo, he also failed to acknowledge the erstwhile John Mahama led NDC administration when commissioning the Lorry Terminal Project which was started in 2012; and this is of public knowledge and record that the project is one of the NDC’s baby.

The leadership of the Krowor Branch of the NDC were not surprise the Nana Akufo-Addo led NPP government maintains its deceptive nature, when the Madam Elizabeth Afoley Quaye hurriedly helped him (Nana) to commission NDC project which hitherto they labeled as Photoshopped.

According to Albert Kotey, there were a number of projects the NDC completed before they left power in 2016; these include, the Nungua Polyclinic, the Desalination Plant which provided 7 days of uninterrupted water supply and the building of numerous class room blocks across Nungua.

He alleged the NPP government shut down the Desalination plant and this has caused water rationing in the whole Nungua and its surrounding areas; “we now access water for only three days in a week and sometimes less”, Kotey lamented.

The statement also chastised Nana Addo, adding that since the constituency was given municipal status, the President has failed to appoint a Municipal Chief Executive (MCE); saying, “It must be made known that Krowor is the only constituency without an MCE”. “….this has invariably hindered the development in the area”, he stated.
