Kwasi Da Wood, former Central Regional Comms Officer of NDC
The Cape Coast Circuit Court has upheld a submission of no case, leading to the acquittal and discharge of the immediate past Central Regional Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress, Kwesi Dawood.
Mr. Kwesi Dawood had been facing charges of incest, defilement, assault, and abetment of abortion in connection with a young girl alleged to be his daughter.
In a statement released on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, the former Central Region NDC Communications Officer expressed his gratitude, saying, “This is to express my deepest appreciation and utmost gratitude to you and everyone for your support from day one to today” during the trial.
Mr. Dawood’s statement goes on to state, “By the infinite grace of God, coupled with your prayers, support, and assistance, I have been vindicated by the Court. The allegations made against me in 2021 by those political hirelings were nothing but wicked and malicious fabrications with no iota of truth in them.”
The statement concludes that further actions will be communicated to the public in the coming days, following thorough consultations with his Legal Team, Spiritual Fathers, and Family.

This is to express my deepest appreciation and utmost gratitude to you and everyone for your support from day one to today.
By the infinite grace of God coupled with your prayers, support and assistance, I have been vindicated by the Court as the allegations made against me in 2021 by those political hirelings, was nothing but wicked and malicious fabrications with no iota of truth in them.
Almost three (3) years of serious criminal trial with the State fervently fighting for my accusers with top notched State Attorneys, Senior Prosecutors and highly experienced Investigators, I worked with my Lawyers through the justice system and my innocence has been established unequivocally.
In the coming days, my next line of action will be communicated to all after deliberations with my Legal Team, Spiritual Fathers and my Family. It must be noted once again that the girl in question is not my child & her mother too is not my wife or ex wife or girlfriend or ex-girlfriend.
To all Comrades, friends and family who reached out to show concern and offered support throughout, I am grateful for your encouragement and assistance. The truth was not buried forever; it has spring forth like a seed in the fullness of time.
