To mark the holy month of Ramadan with an act of generosity, businessman and philanthropist Alhaji Seidu Agongo has announced he will cover the hospital bills of all mothers who give birth at four major health facilities in Accra between March 3 and March 31, 2025.
From March 3 to March 31, 2025, expectant mothers at the following hospitals will have their delivery costs fully covered expectant mothers at:
✅ Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital
✅ 37 Military Hospital
✅ Adabraka Polyclinic
✅ Mamprobi Polyclinic
The initiative, driven by Alhaji Agongo’s deep commitment to charity and social welfare, aligns with the teachings of Islam, which encourages believers to give to those in need. Quoting Qur’an 3:92, he stated: “By no means shall you attain righteousness unless you give freely of that which you love, and whatever you give, Allah knows it well.”
This move is expected to ease the financial burden on struggling families, ensuring that no mother is turned away from safe childbirth due to cost constraints.
Alhaji Agongo has long been a champion of social impact initiatives, previously funding projects in education, healthcare, and community development. His latest intervention is yet another testament to his unwavering commitment to supporting the vulnerable in society.
With maternal healthcare costs remaining a challenge for many, this noble gesture is a call to other well-meaning individuals and organisations to step up and support those in need. A true act of kindness in the spirit of Ramadan!
