Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) has set Monday 30th March 2020 to start online lectures.
The decision was arrived at the special meeting of Executive Management Committee (EMC) on Tuesday, March 24, 2020.
The EMC met to review its decisions, actions and to find the way forward for continuous teaching and learning following the Government of Ghana’s directive for all Institutions to break until further notice due to the dreaded COVID-19 global pandemic.
Executive Management Committee agreed that online delivery of lectures should commence on Monday, March 30, 2020 for the rest of second semester of 2019/2020 academic year.
According to memorandum to all students signed by Julius Atikpui, the Secretary of the GIMPA, read; lectures would be delivered via Zoom for interactive lectures and the Learning Management Systems (LMS) for assessment.
‘Detailed instructions/how to use the Zoom and LMS will be uploaded on the Institute’s website and students’ official email by Thursday, March 2020 for the attention of students.’
‘For participation, students will require a smart phone or laptop with internet connectivity’.
Students should ensure that they activate and or access their student emails on regular basis to familiarize themselves with information that would be given from time to time.
‘The existing timetable for the face-to-face lecture delivery for the second semester 2019/2020 academic year will equally be adopted for the online delivery’.
So far, Ghana has confirmed a total 53 positive COVID-19 cases. 1,030 persons are in quarantine and two dead cases.
The Ghanaian public has been advised to stay home to prevent spread of the virus.
