Angry Constituents in Assin Akrofuom have vented their anger on their Lawmaker, Rev John Ntim Fordjour, harassing and hurling insults at him.

The Legislator, who was to donate veronica bucket at a function to the community, had to be immediately evacuated from the area by security operatives

TheHawkNewsPaper.Com learned that the incident occurred on Tuesday at Assin Akrofuom in the Assin South Constituency of the Central Region when the lawmaker visited the area to donate a veronica bucket to the community to help them fight the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.

“Rev Ntim Fordjour had just started with his speech when irate youth in their numbers charged him (Lawmaker) to obey the President’s order’.

According to the Constituents, their representative should have known better by

obeying President Akuffo Addo’s directives of social distancing have rather disobeyed those directives.

They accused their MP of disregarding the restriction laws recently passed by Parliament of which he is a member.  They said, Rev Fordjour came to mobilize about 300 people in the community center to donate just one Veronica Bucket.

Registering their dissatisfaction, some angry Constituents who spoke to thehawknewspaper.com said they were surprised to see the man of God. ‘Ever since he was elected the 2016 General Elections, he (Ntim Fordjour) has never visited us before.

Since that period, the community has witnessed all sorts of crises without Ntim Fordjours support. We shall survive COVID-19 without his veronica bucket.

Confirming the incident, Asona Abusuapanin Kwadwo Brako, the Public Relations Officer of the Chiefs in Assin Akrofuom, said Youth were enraged because the gathering had over 300 people present contrary to the orders of the President not to have people numbering over 25.

‘What he was coming to donate is even not encouraging considering the number of persons gathered’.
