In a resounding show of support, former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and MP for Okere Constituency, Dan Botwe, has endorsed Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as the optimal leader to steer the NPP into the future. During Vice President Bawumia’s recent visit to the Okere Constituency, Dan Botwe delivered an impassioned speech, urging party members to rally behind the Vice President and elect him as the next flagbearer.

Drawing on his vast experience as a former General Secretary of the party and having carefully assessed all the aspirants and the current state of the party and the nation, Dan Botwe expressed his unwavering confidence in Dr Bawumia’s leadership capabilities. “Since we started this flagbearership campaign, I have not spoken. But today I will speak. I was elected General Secretary of the NPP 25 years ago. I have had experience working under several stalwarts of the Party. I know the NPP very well. I know very well all the 10 people contesting. But I am here at Okere saying this. That anyone who knows me knows that I speak the truth and you cannot influence me with anything,” stated Dan Botwe.

While expressing his admiration for all the aspirants, Dan Botwe emphasized that his love for the NPP surpasses personal preferences. He encouraged fellow party members to consider the bigger picture and the future of the party and the country. “My friends in the NPP, if we look at what is happening in Ghana and NPP now, we are looking into the future. Based on my knowledge of the Party and judging from what is happening, I want to say and ask all of you to go and vote for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia,” urged Dan Botwe.

In his address, Dan Botwe stressed the importance of strategic decision-making for the upcoming 2024 election. He firmly believes that electing Vice President Bawumia as the flagbearer is the party’s best strategic move to secure victory in the upcoming election.

With Dan Botwe’s influential endorsement, Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia gains significant momentum in the race for the NPP’s flagbearer position. As the party prepares to chart its course for the future, the backing of a seasoned figure like Dan Botwe may prove to be a crucial factor in determining the NPP’s direction in the years ahead.
