Nana Odiasempa Odoom I,Odikro of Assin Baanuye and Akwamuhene of Basofiman Traditional Council has urged politicians in Assin not to regard chiefs and residents in the smaller communities as villagers  but rather see them as part of Ghanaian who also deserve a share of the national cake.

According to him, His Excellency the President of Ghana Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo paid them a visit prior to the 2016 general elections and made a sugarcoated promises concerning their road network,he said, before the coming into power of Nana Addo, there was a contractor on the road but he promised to make the road more quality than it used to be. I was so much happy because, Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo was accompanied by the Member of Parliament for Assin central Hon Kennedy Ohene Agyapong,Minister of Trade and industry Alan Kyeremanteng, Member of Parliament for Assin North Hon Abenaa Durowaah Mensah so we thought it will be a done deal after the election but the road keeps on deteriorating day in and day out,it pains me soo much that none of these people has even step a foot here after the election, he added.

Nana Odiasempa said, the road network which stretch from Assin Nyankomasi to Assin Senchiem and it surronding xommunities was about 80% complete under the NDC government but he can’t understand the reason why the road has been abandoned. The Assin Foso Municipal Chief Executive Hon Fiifi Baako has also rejected us. We are in a cocoa growing area and I can say for a fact that, majority of cocoa beans produced in Assin comes from Assin sienchiem and its environs.

Our elders, especially Hon Abenaa Durowaah Mensah and Hon Kennedy Agyapong should not think we are villagers, we also deserve better, I promise we won’t disappoint them in the coming general elections if they listen to our plea but we will advise ourselves if they turn a death ear to us,he added

Nana Odiasempa finally disclosed that, they’ve regretted voting for Hon. Durowaa Mensah and Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo to be the president of Ghana, but we still hope Nana Addo will fulfill his promise because he is a listening government.

In an interview with a driver who drives on the Senchiem road he said, traveling always becomes a major problem anytime it rains. He emphasized on a choked bridge in between Assin Awiasu and Assin Bonglo which needs an urgent attention from the Assin North District Assembly before something bad happens.

Assin Nyankomasi to Assin Senchiem was under the Assin Fosu Municipality before the 2016 general election but has now fall under the Assin North district after the creation of the Assin north district by the governing President Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo.
