Ken’s apology letter to the Judges

Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, a New Patriotic Party Lawmaker who was seen in a viral video threatening to deal with a High Court Judge, is profusely begging for forgiveness for his dishonorable deed stressing that his actions and inactions do not in any way represent his person, with a vow to be of good behaviour henceforth.

His plea came moments after Justice Amos Wuntah Wuni has summoned the acerbic mouth legislator to appear before him to show cause as to why he should not be charged for contempt of court.

I hereby summon the said Kennedy Ohene Agyapong per a Warrant issued under my hand a Seal to appear before the (Land Court 12) on Monday, 14th September 2020 at 10:00 am to show why he should not be severely punished for Contempt if the matters are proven against him to the satisfaction of the court.

This was after the self-acclaimed financier of NPP, Kennedy Agyapong made disparaging claims against judges on Net 2 television, one of his media outlets based at Madina in Accra.

The Member of Parliament alleged that a judge had made him lose a land he acquired for eighteen-years following the bias decision of the court.

‘You think I fear someone? You are a stupid Judge. I am not like Anas who will take a bribe from you. I will deal with you. Nobody served me anything. I did not know what was going on. Then suddenly you say I should not go to the land. You are an animal of a Judge.’’

Kennedy Agyapong is known for attacking and insulting heads of institutions including chieftains of his party.

The Assin Central Legislator is on record to heaped insults on the former Agyekum Kufour and his Chief of Staff, Kwadwo Mpianim.

Mohammed Alhassan and David-Asante-Appeatu both retired Inspector General of Police have come under severe attacks from Kennedy Agyapong whilst at the post.

The former Chair of the Electoral Commission, Mrs. Charlotte Osei, Kyei Mensah-Bonsu, majority leader of parliament, and Mubarack Mutaka Mohammed have all tasted the insults and baseless allegations of Ken Agyapong.

‘Upon sober reflection, I have come to the realization that without prejudice to the substantive case, my expression about the court’s opinion was harsh thus I find it necessary to render unqualified apology without any reservation whatsoever to the Honourable Chief Justice, Judges, and Magistrates and any individual who have been offended by my uncomplimentary comments’.

‘Prior to the publication of this letter, I have appeared on the same platform on the 7th day of September 2020 and rendered the same apology to the Hon. Chief Judge, Judges, and Magistrates’.

‘I must conclude that I strongly believe in our judicial system and can never denigrate its integrity’. He wrote in an apology letter addressed to the Chief Justice, Judges, and Magistrates Association of Ghana.
