True to his word, H.E. John Dramani Mahama has wasted no time delivering his bold 2024 campaign promise to tackle corruption. In a move that has sent shockwaves through the corridors of power, the President-elect has assembled an all-star team of anti-corruption heavyweights to lead his flagship initiative, Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL).

The team, composed of renowned professionals with unblemished records in justice and accountability, is tasked with exposing and recovering stolen public funds. The lineup reads like a who’s who of Ghana’s anti-corruption champions:

1. Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa – The outspoken MP and transparency advocate steps up as Chairman.
2. Mr. Daniel Domelovo – The indefatigable former Auditor-General, a man whose name is synonymous with integrity.
3. COP (Rtd.) Nathaniel Kofi Boakye – The no-nonsense ex-police commissioner who spent decades combating financial crime.
4. Mr. Martin Kpebu – A fearless private legal practitioner celebrated for his relentless anti-corruption crusades.
5. Mr. Raymond Archer – The investigative journalist who has exposed some of the nation’s most scandalous corruption cases.
6.
With ORAL as a cornerstone of Mahama’s policy agenda, the team is set to work with surgical precision. Their mission: to comb through information from the public and other sources, investigate corruption allegations, and recover every pesewa siphoned from state coffers.

Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Spokesperson for the Mahama Transition Team, underscored the gravity of the task ahead. “Anti-corruption formed a core part of H.E. John Mahama’s 2024 campaign, and he intends to hit the ground running,” he said in a statement.

Observers say this bold rollout not only reaffirms Mahama’s resolve to fight corruption but also sets a high bar for leadership accountability. “This is not just about recovering money—it’s about restoring trust in governance,” a source close to the transition team told The Hawk.

Citizens are being encouraged to come forward with information on corruption, with assurances of anonymity and protection for whistleblowers. This open-door policy aims to empower Ghanaians to play an active role in cleansing the system.

The stakes are enormous for Mahama, whose resounding electoral victory was powered in part by his promise to clamp down on corruption. Analysts believe the success of ORAL will not only define his presidency but also set a lasting precedent for governance in Ghana.

Mahama’s message to corrupt actors is unequivocal: corruption has no place in Ghana’s future. As the ORAL task force gears up to deliver results, the entire nation is watching—and waiting.
