Johnson Asiedu Nketia, National Chairman NDC

In a bold declaration, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, National Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), has warned that a government led by John Mahama will spell trouble for those engaged in corruption and wrongdoing in Ghana. Speaking to enthusiastic supporters during a three-day tour in Sandema, Upper East Region, Mr. Nketia underscored the party’s commitment to recovering all misappropriated funds taken by the current New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration.

“Under a Mahama-led government, the bad apples in this country will find it ‘scary’,” he proclaimed, assuring party loyalists that the NDC would protect the rights of law-abiding citizens while holding corrupt officials accountable for their actions.

“Let me be clear: the Mahama government will not be a threat to good people. It will, however, be a nightmare for those who think they can engage in corruption without consequences,” he emphasized.

Nketia urged citizens to embrace the principles of good governance, whether they work in public service or the private sector, stressing the need for integrity and accountability. “When we return to power, we must establish standards that will guide future generations. This is the key to sustainable development in our nation,” he added.

As the NDC positions itself for the upcoming elections, Nketia’s remarks signal a fierce determination to confront corruption head-on and restore public trust in governance. The question remains: will the electorate support this vision for a cleaner, more accountable Ghana?
