Ralph Poku-Adusei, NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Bekwai

Ralph Poku-Adusei, the Parliamentary Candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Bekwai Constituency, has slammed the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), describing their manifesto as a hollow document devoid of actionable plans for Ghana’s development.

Speaking on Wontumi TV and Radio on November 21, 2024, the lawyer and politician dissected the NDC’s promise to “reset” Ghana’s economy, questioning which era of their governance they intend to revert to.
“Are they talking about JJ Rawlings’ pre- or post-independence era? Or perhaps the late Prof. Mills’ governance from 2009 to 2012? Or John Mahama’s turbulent 2013 to 2016 era? These questions beg for answers,” he quizzed.

Poku-Adusei criticized the opposition’s economic proposals, pointing to their reliance on a promised national economic forum within their first 120 days in office as evidence of a lack of immediate solutions. “It’s clear the NDC is bankrupt of ideas and merely paying lip service to the electorate,” he remarked.

In contrast, the NPP candidate hailed the policies of the governing party and its flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, as the antidote to Ghana’s current challenges. Among these, he highlighted a flat rate for imports, the installation of 2,000 megawatts of solar power to lower electricity costs, and the introduction of a gold-backed currency to stabilize the cedi.

Poku-Adusei didn’t shy away from touting his accomplishments in the Bekwai Constituency. These include the construction of three mechanized boreholes, the repair of eight damaged boreholes, the clearing of two long-standing refuse dumps, skills training for 3,000 youth, financial inclusion initiatives for 10,000 traders, and contributions to education, sports, and traditional and religious institutions.

He further reiterated his vision to create a self-sufficient constituency, emphasizing his plans for an accessible and inclusive Member of Parliament’s office as his legacy.
“NDC’s generic policies can’t build on the solid foundation the NPP has laid. Our track record speaks for itself, and the electorate must trust us to continue delivering on our

promises,” Poku-Adusei declared confidently.
The NPP candidate’s bold statements are expected to heighten political tensions as the December 2024 general elections approach.
