Minority Chief Whip Frank Annoh-Dompreh has delivered a blistering critique of the John Mahama-led administration, accusing it of collapsing under its own weight barely six months into office. According to the Nsawam-Adoagyire Member of Parliament, while he had no confidence in the NDC’s return to power, the speed at which the government’s “failures” are emerging has stunned even him.

Speaking in an interview on Asaasepa Radio, Annoh-Dompreh said he anticipated mediocrity, but not so quickly. “With most governments, you begin to see cracks after a year or two. But with this NDC administration, they’ve barely settled, and already the incompetence is glaring,” he charged.

He singled out Minister for Government Communications Felix Kwakye Ofosu, accusing him of undermining President Mahama’s appeal for collaboration and maturity in public discourse.

“If you are the Minister of Communications and speak on behalf of the President, then every time you speak, it is as though the President himself is speaking. In one breath, the President urges corroboration and collaboration. In another, you jump the gun and accuse Rev. Ntim Fordjour of lying, even going as far as calling him a clown,” Annoh-Dompreh fumed.

His comments come in the wake of a heated back-and-forth over allegations raised by NPP’s Rev. John Ntim Fordjour on suspected drug trafficking involving a military aircraft — claims the Mahama administration has dismissed as baseless and inflammatory.

But Annoh-Dompreh insists the NDC’s combative posture only betrays deeper weaknesses. “They should remember that pride comes before a fall. And this fall has come far too early,” he said.

He further predicted a flood of scandals to hit the Mahama administration by 2026. “I will not curse this government, but by next year, you will witness the numerous scandals that will plague the Mahama administration in 2026. We will all be witnesses.”

The MP urged Ghanaians to remain vigilant, suggesting the country is entering what he called a “season of exposure” under the NDC. While the NDC has not formally responded to Annoh-Dompreh’s remarks, the political temperature around the young administration appears to be rising.
