Not long ago, Ernest Kofi Owusu-Bempah was barking threats at voters in Asante Akyem North, warning them not to dare vote for an independent candidate—or face his full wrath. He strutted around as the bravest of the brave, promising to be the NPP’s human shield against the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC). But now, when the heat is on, he’s nowhere to be found!
THE TOUGHEST MAN… UNTIL HE WASN’T
In his heyday, Owusu-Bempah was a walking controversy, feared by many, adored by NPP diehards, and loathed by the opposition. His voice was a war cry, and his presence a political storm. He allegedly spearheaded the closure of Salt FM in Agogo, flexed his power in media circles, and led counter-interest groups to shut down dissent. He was the bulldog of the party, barking at critics and silencing opponents with sheer audacity.
But fast forward to today—his once-booming voice is now a whisper, his aggressive stance now a disappearing act. When the NPP’s defeat hit like a wrecking ball, Owusu-Bempah vanished without a trace.
NO SHOW, NO FIGHT, NO FIRE
With President John Dramani Mahama gearing up to take over, many expected Owusu-Bempah to emerge, fists clenched, ready to challenge the new administration. But instead—radio silence! No press conferences, no fiery statements, no dramatic outbursts. Not even a Facebook rant!
His disappearance has left many asking: Where is Owusu-Bempah? Has the so-called NPP’s strongest man finally met his match? Or is he simply waiting for the dust to settle before launching another attack?
For now, all that remains is a gaping silence where Owusu-Bempah’s roaring voice used to be. The “bravest” of them all has gone AWOL.
