Davis Opoku Ansah, OPK, has been declared the winner of the Mpraeso Constituency primary election of the New Patriotic Party held on Saturday 20th June 2020.
The 37-year-old Communication Consultant, Agribusiness Specialist, and political activist secured four hundred and two votes (402) votes to beat his closest rival and incumbent, Seth Kwame Acheampong, who came a distant second with 180 votes.
He has announced the winner in the Mpraeso Primaries on Saturday after the election, which many pollsters had written him off.
Joining the self-styled pollsters to belittle the efforts of Davis, was popular Peace FM morning show host Kwame Sefa-Kayi and Citi FM/TV’s Bernard Avle had thought would be a walkover for the incumbent Lawmaker, Seth Acheampong.
For them, the founding member of Let My Vote Count, a splinter group of the New Patriotic Party has no clouts and spread within the Constituency to beat a three-term Legislator.
However, it turned an anti-climax, with Seth Acheampong being humiliated because the ways of God are not the ways of man.
OPK, a member of the Mpraeso Constituency of the NPP, was a TESCON President /Student Union activist before becoming a politician.
He later became an Aide to Engineer Kwabena Agyei Agyapong, the former General Secretary of the Party.
He attended Nkwatia Presbyterian Senior High School, Nkawkaw for his secondary education in 2002, from where he proceeded to study Laboratory Science Technology at the Cape Coast University in 2009.
Davis further studied Strategic Political Communication at FNF-International Academy for Leadership in 2011.
Ambitious of entering Ghana’s parliament, he studied Laws at the University of London in 2018. He is presently the Director of Operations for a group identifying itself as Alliance for Accountable Governance-AFAG.
