Television Broadcaster and Presenter at GHOne Television, Nana Aba Anamoah, has asserted that her colleague, Television Presenter and weekly morning show host, Serwaa Amihere, was a slay queen.
Nana Aba Anamoah pointed out that Serwaa Amihere used to wear long eye lashes, nails and huge hair without focusing on her work.
Nana Aba Anamoah further explained that she mentored Serwaa Amihere, to become one of the bests presenters and news anchors in the Ghanaian media industry.
She continued that Serwaa Amihere knew nothing when she started mentoring her, and that it was a difficult moment for her in coaching her.
In an interview with Mr. Kwasi Sintim Misah (KSM) on a popular television show, The KSM Show, Nana Aba Anamoah disclosed that Serwaa Amihere was wearing skimpy dresses when she met her.
She again stated that the presenter new next to nothing, and that all what she was interested was slaying.
“Serwaa Amihere was that posh lady who knew next to nothing except slaying, fixing long hair, nails and wearing skimpy dresses when I met her”, she lamented.
Speaking to KSM, Nana Aba Anamoah revealed at the Show that unlike other mentees, mentoring Serwaa Amihere was extremely difficult because she was with a different lifestyle and background.
She further reiterated that she solely developed Serwaa Amihere and made her one of the best award-winning journalists as people see today.
“Nonetheless, a time came when she gave up all the ‘trash’ for the award-winning journalist we see today”, she told KSM.
On the issue of bloggers’ contents, Nana Aba Anamoah pointed out that the work of some bloggers is total laziness, as they only produce irrelevant materials that only calls for unnecessary attention and public ridicule on some innocent celebrities.
Nana Aba Anamoah told KSM that bloggers can do so much with the powerful tool they possess, and that, it shouldn’t always be about the gossips but rather, it should be about contents that will transform the lives of people.
On the notion of the rapid spread of negative stories, Nana Aba Anamoah further explained that the mindset most Ghanaians to hold the perception of ‘negative stories sells than positive stories must change.
She revealed that there are lots of people on the internet who are ready to read positive stories rather than negative stories.
She continued that there are lots of people who will ignore negative stories and go for positive stories only.
In citing an example at the KSM show, Nana Aba Anamoah said that she posted short videos of her campaign against tramadol abuse on the internet and had large number of of viewers viewing the campaign.
New media (social media) has become extremely power in this century due to the rapid advancement in technology. Many people are using this opportunity for the betterment of their societies.
However, it seems most Ghanaian bloggers are only interested in getting viewers instead of positive change.
