In a scathing critique of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its Presidential Candidate, John Dramani Mahama, Samuel A. Jinapor, Member of Parliament for Damongo Constituency and Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, has derided the party’s promise of a 24-hour economy as nothing more than a hollow slogan.
Addressing a gathering in Damongo to acclaim him as the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for the Damongo Constituency, Jinapor lambasted the NDC for their failure to deliver on their economic promises during their time in power. He highlighted the period of dumsor (power outages) under the NDC’s tenure, stating that they couldn’t even provide a 12-hour economy, let alone a 24-hour one.
Jinapor asserted that the NDC’s track record of mismanagement and inability to explain the concept of a 24-hour economy to Ghanaians undermines their credibility. He emphasized the need for practical policies and transparent explanations, rather than empty rhetoric.
The ceremony to acclaim Jinapor as the NPP’s parliamentary candidate drew a host of dignitaries, including party officials and ministers. Jinapor urged Ghanaians to vote for the NPP’s presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, emphasizing the latter’s policy-driven approach and vision for the country’s future.
Highlighting the importance of technology and digitization in contemporary development, Jinapor praised Dr. Bawumia’s efforts in championing progressive policies and urged Ghanaians to support the NPP in continuing its initiatives for national development.
