In a bombshell revelation, Subin MP Eugene Boakye Antwi has sensationally accused Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, cousin to President Akufo-Addo, of masterminding the controversial removal of Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu as the Leader of the Majority Caucus in Parliament.

Speaking to Parker Wilson of Oyerepa TV, Eugene, who is set to step down from his parliamentary duties in 2025, tore into Gabby, branding him a liar who spread falsehoods that led to the ousting of Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu. According to Eugene, Gabby wrongly believed that Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu was eyeing the Finance Minister position, a misconception that fueled a wave of protests within the Majority Caucus.

‘He (Gabby) falsely believed Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu was after the Finance Minister role,” Eugene revealed, explaining how this unfounded fear resulted in the brutal removal of the long-serving leader.

Eugene fiercely defended Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, insisting that the former Majority Leader had no involvement in the infamous “Ken Must Go” campaign—a movement by some MPs to oust Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta over the country’s economic woes.

“He didn’t even know about our press conference. We took him by surprise,” Eugene disclosed, further alleging that Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu’s only crime was being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

‘Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu was removed after the ‘Ken Must Go’ press conference. They sacked him because he came to my house. Gabby wrongly assumed that Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu wanted the Finance Minister position,” Eugene claimed.

In a scathing attack, Eugene directly accused Gabby of peddling lies to orchestrate the removal, saying, “Gabby is a liar. Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu was never behind the ‘Ken Must Go’ issue.’
Eugene also revealed details of a conversation he had with Gabby, during which Gabby tried to pin the Finance Minister’s ouster on Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu.

“Gabby even called me to his house, and I told him to record whatever I was saying. We made it clear we wanted an MP as Finance Minister, but Gabby assumed it was Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu,” Eugene concluded, painting a damning picture of the political machinations at play.

With these explosive allegations, the fallout from the “Ken Must Go” saga continues to rock the highest echelons of government, laying bare the intense power struggles within the ruling party.
