Apple has yet to enter the foldable device market, but it is expected to make a significant splash with the release of two foldable devices within the same year.
While Apple has been cautious in joining the foldable trend, recent reports suggest that the company is preparing to unveil not just one, but two innovative devices. According to GSMArena, Apple is working on a flip-style foldable iPhone. Additionally, there are plans for an iPad/MacBook hybrid featuring an 18.8-inch internal display.
Analyst Jeff Pu predicts that the hybrid device will be the first to launch, with an anticipated release in the second quarter of 2026. The foldable iPhone is expected to follow later in the year, potentially around the end of 2026. There is speculation that the hybrid model could be released alongside the iPhone 18 series, although its market availability might also be pushed to late 2026.
The report lacks detailed specifications, but Pu expressed confidence in the projected release dates. Apple is reportedly on track, having recently secured a supply contract for the foldable iPhone panels. However, with 2026 still some time away, these plans remain subject to change.
