The Leadership of National Democratic Congress (NDC) has been accused of sleeping on the job amid cases of the Electoral Commission working tirelessly to rig the election for Akufo-Addo.
Anita Desoso said that the Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo led-party is letting John Mahama down by failing in its role to fight the wrongs of the Akufo-Addo government.
The former National Vice Chairperson accused leaders of seeming aloof and ignorant of the ongoing activities of the Electoral Commission.
She urges the NDC to refrain from holding press conferences as a means of exposing the government of the day ahead of this December’s Presidential and Parliamentary elections because the Akufo-Addo leadership is immune to press conference and civility.
The former National Women Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress, at a campaign launch of Elikplim Akugrugu in Dome-Kwabenya, Accra, on Sunday, observed that the NDC is generally prepared but must organizing press conferences in reactions to ills of the Akufo-Addo led administration.
Anita called on the NDC to unite against Akufo-Addo and the Electoral Commission.
Recounting electoral history, she alleged that President John Agyekum Kufour did not win his re-election bid in 2004 but the NDC conceded defeat for the peace of the country. In 2008, the election had to travel to the third round, because the NDC stood firm against the oppressor’s rule until it was declared the winner. ‘You saw what they did to us in 2012’. ‘They dragged us to court in 2012. We stayed in court for nine months out of the twelve months of the first year. She told the gathering.
Admonishing the national leadership, she said the New Patriotic Party can never be intimidated by press conferences.
‘You can’t be reacting to everything the NDC does with press conference’, you need to stand up to the diabolic machinations.
She called the National Officers to stand up and foil the frantic effort by the Electoral Commission to subvert the will of the masses.
It is obvious that the NPP is in cahoots with the Electoral Commission and the state apparatus to rig the December elections.
‘John Dramani Mahama should not be the one disapproving and rejecting the unscrupulous exercises by the Jean Mensa led Commission’.
According to her, she is not surprised because some of the National Officers of the party are in the pocket of the NPP. ‘Some of them have been bought’. ‘They are ‘Judases’ in the NDC’.
