Krachiwura, Nana Mprah Besemuna III

The Krachiwura, Nana Mprah Besemuna III, has reminded Chiefs and people of the Oti Region that one of the commandments of the African traditional religion is to show gratitude to anyone who has done or given something of great value to you. He stated that besides the sin of incest, murder among others, it is a big taboo for a person to return evil for good.

The former Chairman of the Joint Consultative Committee (JCC)  of the Chiefs and people, which championed the mobilization of the people of the former Volta North in support of the creation of the Oti Region, said this on Tuesday, September 22nd, at Dambai while addressing paramount Chiefs of the newly constituted 26 members Oti Regional House of Chiefs.

According to Nana Mprah Besemuna III, everyone within Oti should not forget the fact that it has taken more than five decades with five petitions, the latest being the one submitted to Nana Akufo-Addo in June 2017, before their cry for a separate Region was given a positive response by Nana Akufo-Addo.

He, therefore, asked the people never to forget this great act of courage on the part of the President when they go to the polls in December to decide on who should become the next President of Ghana.

The Vice President, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia officiated the swearing-in ceremony for the members of the Oti Regional House of Chiefs. Present at the colorful ceremony were Hon. Dan Kwaku Botwe, Minister for Regional Reorganization and Development; Honourable Kwasi Owusu- Yeboah, the Oti Regional Minister, and the Religious Affairs and Chieftaincy Minister, Hon. Kofi Dzamesi and many other government appointees.
