The Greater Accra Regional (GAR) National Democratic Congress (NDC) has organized an orientation training and capacity building workshop for its communication officers in the region.
According to Jerry Johnson, the GA Regional NDC Communication officer, the workshop was organized for the constituency communication officers in the region to shape their communication skills in propagating and handling of party issues.
Speaking to The Hawk Newspaper / TheHawkGhana.com in an interview in Accra, he stated that the training workshop was necessary for all communicators who are not communication experts, but they are good articulation amongst other areas as they work for the party.
Mr. Jerry Johnson hinted that the programme would also refresh the trained communicators, so they could do better this time around going into 2020 general elections. He explained that one should not necessarily be an expert communicator to handle party communication but there are others who are good communicators and they needed to be imbibed in with how to handle party communication going into 2020 general elections.
After the opening of the workshop in Accra, Mr. Johnson said political communication is different from normal communication hence, the need to help the party Communicators so they could also build themselves as they work for the NDC.
He further told this portal that the event which forms part of his programmes selected party communicators who are good in various areas of Communication.
The GAR Communication Officer also disclosed that this orientation training and capacity building workshop would be strengthened and continued after the NDC national delegates conference in Accra this week.
