Entrepreneur Seme Kor shared an unbelievable experience after mistakenly sending a whopping ₵38,600 to his Bolt driver, Albert Quansah. What happened next could easily have been a nightmare, but it turned out to be a heartwarming tale of integrity.
It all started when Seme was on a Bolt ride, multitasking as he made a money transfer to a business partner. When they reached his destination, Seme paid Albert his fare via mobile money. However, in a distracted moment, Seme continued sending cash to Albert’s number, thinking it was his partner’s! Before he realised the error, an eye-watering ₵38,600 had vanished into the wrong account.
“My heart nearly dropped,” Seme wrote in his post, recounting the moment panic set in. He frantically called Albert, expecting the worst. But to his amazement, Albert calmly explained that he had been trying to reach Seme too! Not only that, but the heroic driver had driven back to where he’d dropped him off, hoping to return the money.
And that’s not all. Albert, who had already exceeded his daily mobile money transfer limit, went above and beyond. He sent ₵15,000 back to Seme’s partner and even left his phone and MoMo password with Seme, allowing him to complete the transfer himself. Albert promised to collect the phone the next morning, fully trusting Seme to do the right thing.
Blown away by this display of honesty, Seme insisted on rewarding Albert with a token of appreciation – offering to cover his daily sales of ₵700.
The post has since gone viral, with people praising Albert for his selflessness and integrity. “Bolt company should be proud of him,” Seme wrote. And we couldn’t agree more – Albert Quansah is a true hero in a world where good people seem so rare.
