Kofi Dzamesi, a former cheer leader and campaign manager   of Alan Kyerematen, has announced that he will be backing Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the forthcoming New Patriotic Party (NPP) leadership race.

During a gathering of influential members of the NPP in the Volta Region on Friday, the CEO of Bui Power Authority and former Volta Regional Minister expressed his unwavering belief that Vice President Bawumia is the most qualified among the candidates vying for leadership in the upcoming elections.

The former Chieftaincy Minister declared his support for Dr. Bawumia, stating that he believes Dr. Bawumia is the only candidate capable of leading the NPP to victory in the upcoming elections and breaking the eight-year cycle.

He continued to express his admiration for Dr. Bawumia and presented additional convincing reasons to demonstrate his endorsement and also appeal for support for the Vice President.

Kofi Dzamesi’s public support for Dr. Bawumia is another addition to the increasing number of influential personalities who previously supported Alan Kyerematen but have now switched their allegiance to Dr. Bawumia.

Before Kofi Dzamesi, Frederick Opare Ansah, who played a significant role in his previous flagbearership campaign, surprised many listeners during a live radio interview when he declared his endorsement of Vice President Bawumia’s candidacy.

Several individuals who held important positions in Alan’s national, regional, constituency, and electoral areas have decamped and moving in droves to the camp of the Vice President.

The Vice President has garnered significant support from both the upper echelons and the grassroots of the party. The NPP is set to begin accepting nominations for its flagbearership contest on May 26th.
