The continued closure of gold dealer Menzgold has been described as unacceptable by Lawyer Maurice Ampaw.
He said, the continuous closure of the firm without plan to reimburse its customers is reckless and insensitive on the part of the regulator (Security and Exchange Commission).
‘I am going to drag the Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) to court for violating my right as a customer of Menzgold’.
He is said, he is being denied of his right to access his own funds.
This was disclosed on Ghana’s Agenda, a socio-political flagship on Zylofon FM on Monday. He had gone to zylofon to talk his 50th birthday celebration and some activities to mark his 17 years in legal practice.
According to Lawyer Ampaw, the estoppel conduct by the Security and Exchange Commission is bringing untold hardship on him and his family.
He argued, that as a customer, doing business with Menzgold for the past five years without a hitch until the needless and reckless intervention by the regulator.
For Lawyer Ampaw, persons putting pressure on Menzgold should kindly redirect their energies because for him, they are attacking the wrong entity.
He charged the Chief Executive officer of SEC to consider the pain, emotions and loss of money by customers and do the needful with speed of light to save the situation.
