The outspoken Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe, alias Abronye DC, has exposed the real reason behind the party’s catastrophic electoral defeat—an arrogant, out-of-touch government that turned a deaf ear to its own grassroots!

In a fiery interview on Wontumi TV, Abronye DC held nothing back, lashing out at the leadership for neglecting the very foot soldiers who fought tirelessly to keep the party in power.
“I won’t blame constituency officers, polling station executives, or anybody. We didn’t listen to them. The government didn’t listen to the party. The government was suffering from hearing impairment, so when the grassroots were speaking, they couldn’t hear!” he fumed.

According to him, while top officials were enjoying the perks of power, they left the foot soldiers to starve. The result? A wave of anger and frustration that led to a crushing defeat at the polls.

“So, you cannot blame anybody in the grassroots. When they were enjoying their positions and starving the grassroots, that was the source of the problem,” he declared.
Abronye DC also rubbished claims that the loss was due to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s candidacy, insisting that the party’s downfall had nothing to do with the flagbearer but everything to do with betrayal and neglect by those in high office.

“This election loss has nothing to do with Dr. Bawumia. Some people tried to blame him, but that’s nonsense! The truth is, people were angry—plain and simple,” he revealed, adding that some party bigwigs even wanted him removed for refusing to back their scheme to replace Bawumia.

Abronye DC’s explosive comments have reignited debates about the NPP’s leadership crisis and the growing disconnect between the party’s elite and its rank and file. With tensions high, the question remains—will the party learn its lesson, or is this just the beginning of a deeper collapse?
