Mr. Alexander Danso, National President of PTA

The National President of the Parents Teachers Association Mr. Alexander Danso has expressed disappointment over the government’s decision to purchase questions and answer booklets from the West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) for students.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has procured four hundred thousand (400,000) sets of questions and answer booklets from the West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) for distribution to the first batch of beneficiaries of the Free Senior High School policy preparing to write their final examination April next year.

Speaking at a Speech and Prize Giving Day/Homecoming for past students of Suhum Senior High Technical School (SUTESCO) in the Eastern Region, the Director-General of Ghana Education Service, Prof. Kwasi Opoku Amankwa explained that, the decision is an additional intervention.

Reacting to the development on Nkawkaw based Agoo FM with Kwame Koranteng, National President of PTA Alexander Danso said providing past questions for students shows their preparations towards examination is not complete adding why we don’t use this fund to purchase extra-books for the children.

He questioned why government will take this step blaming Director-General of Ghana Education Service, Prof. Kwasi Opoku Amankwa for not putting proper measures in the education system.

According to him, government must focus on supervision, monitoring teachers’ performance whether students are benefiting from their services, adding that past question will amount to just ‘’chew and pour’’.

He accused the Ghana Education of sabotaging the role of the Parents Teachers Association to prevent them from assessing what is happening in the various schools.
