The NPP’s ill-fated ‘Sisi Fiaa’ campaign has landed them in the political doghouse, according to North Tongu MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa. Speaking on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana on Friday, December 13, 2024, Ablakwa slammed the ruling party for treating the election like a circus while Ghanaians were grappling with real issues.

“Did you hear their campaign? It was more like a joke,” Ablakwa quipped, adding that the NPP’s focus on dancing and singing instead of tackling serious concerns was a big mistake. “When Sammy Awuku, Wontumi, and others claimed they’d win with ‘strategy,’ they were out of touch with the people. There was no strategy – just ‘sisi fiaa’ and more dancing.”

Ablakwa didn’t mince words, calling out the NPP’s campaign for being devoid of substance, with issues and policies nowhere to be found. “How could they expect to win when the whole campaign revolved around ‘sisi fiaa’? It was all noise and no answers,” he said, referring to the NPP’s failed attempts to appeal to the voters with empty rhetoric.

The results speak for themselves: the NPP’s disastrous campaign led them to a humbling defeat, with the party now reduced to the Minority in Parliament and losing the presidential race.

“‘Sisi fiaa’ campaign, and no wonder they’ve ended up with a ‘sisi fiaa’ Minority,” Ablakwa scoffed. “Ghanaians have spoken, and the NPP’s lack of seriousness has cost them dearly.”
