Angry youth in Tema are turning up the heat on the Director-General of Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA), Brigadier General Paul Seidu Tanye Kulono, demanding the immediate removal of Director of Port, Sandra Opoku, over allegations of corruption, mismanagement, and political bias.

The Concerned Youth of Tema are questioning why Opoku, an NPP appointee since 2017, is still in post despite the change in government. They accuse her of overseeing massive financial losses, including the mysterious disappearance of 15 Mafi trailers and the questionable auctioning of five brand-new reach stackers, which GPHA is now paying to rent from the buyer!

Adding fuel to the fire, the youth claim NDC-affiliated workers are being victimized, while culprits of these shady deals face no punishment—with one manager simply transferred instead of being sanctioned.

With the GPHA board set to be constituted by Friday, the youth are warning Kulono to act now or risk keeping Opoku and other NPP-linked officials like Board Secretary Joshua Nimako and Takoradi Port’s Amo Bediako in office.

And if their demands are ignored? They’re ready to storm the streets with protests!

The ball is now in the GPHA boss’s court—will he clean house or watch tensions explode?
