Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin, the Member of Parliament for Effutu, has sent a sharp warning to the NDC, making it crystal clear that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is in full control of Effutu and plans to keep it that way. Speaking to an enthusiastic crowd of NPP supporters over the weekend, Afenyo-Markin had no time for any talk of power shifts in the Municipality.
“In Effutu, we are the government. The NPP is the government,” he declared. “We hold all the assembly seats, and we have the presiding member. The NDC can forget about any hope of taking control here. We’re not giving up an inch of Effutu.”
He boldly added that the NPP isn’t backing down. “The NDC should stop fantasizing about nominating an MCE here,” he said. “They either come to us and beg, or they can keep quiet. Effutu is NPP territory, and that’s not changing.”
Afenyo-Markin’s no-nonsense tone leaves no doubt—Effutu remains an unshakable fortress for the NPP, and the NDC would be wise to stay in their lane.
