Barely eight hours after Vice President Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia received his nomination form for the New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer race, the Northern Regional Coordinator for Alan Kyeremanten, Mr Ismail Yahuza, along with his supporters, has defected and pledged their unwavering support to the Vice President’s cause.
Yahuza, the failed National Vice Chairmanship aspirant in his divorce statement said; ‘Today, I exercise my democratic right and freedom of choice as guaranteed by the constitution of Ghana. The NPP, with its motto “Development in Freedom,” reflects our commitment to democratic values. As an NPP member, I fulfil my rights and duties outlined in our party’s constitution.
The NPP has a strong track record of promoting people-centred programs and achieving socio-economic development through good governance, peace, and security. As we prepare for the 2024 elections, we must consider the evolving political landscape and choose a leader who can meet the demands of our time.
Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is the ideal candidate for the NPP. He embodies competence, exceptional leadership, and a commitment to peace. As Vice President, he has demonstrated his capabilities, spearheading innovative initiatives to advance our economy. Dr Bawumia enjoys broad support within the party and has proven his loyalty and value through his consistent contributions.
Dr Bawumia’s leadership embraces inclusivity, regardless of faith or ethnicity, fostering national cohesion. He has a unique appeal that resonates with both Christians and Muslims, making him a unifying force. With his experience and popularity, he is the best choice to lead the NPP in the upcoming elections.
I wholeheartedly endorse Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as our presidential candidate for 2024. His leadership will bring progress, unity, and development to our great nation.’
Yahuza’s departure further amplifies the growing support for the Vice President as he vies to lead the NPP.
