The school’s 37-year-old bus and several other jalopy cars

Frank Kwamena Boamah while hosting the ceremony to inaugurate a reconstituted Board of Governors after his assumption of office as the Head of Institution, Jasikan, expressed his concern over the inadequate furniture in the school, stating that the school lacks desks, chairs, tables, and benches.

He said, despite the school’s numerous achievements, he noted that the Oti Regional Champion is still faced with inadequate furniture in classrooms, the dining hall, the library, and the assembly hall.

The newly appointed Head of the Institution highlighted that the school lacks laboratories and necessary equipment for practical activities in Home Economics and Visual Arts.

He pointed out the school’s challenges, including the fact that the 2,445 boarders have to attend dining in shifts due to a lack of tables and benches, which disrupts their academic schedule.

He noted that there is also a shortage of textbooks in the school’s spacious library.

‘As we speak, we don’t have a pick-up vehicle to carry out administrative duties’.

He made a plea to parents, alumni, corporations, individuals, and guardians to assist the school in providing comfortable learning and teaching for students by donating furniture and laboratory equipment.

Kissewaa Ejanor, the Municipal Chief Executive, stated that the Akufo-Addo government will continue to prioritize the education sector as a means of propelling the country forward.
