Popular YouTuber Bernard Kwadwo Amoafo, known as Kwadwo Sheldon has stirred controversy with claims that former President John Dramani Mahama’s recent youth engagement at the Bukom Boxing Arena was nothing more than a staged performance. In a post on the social media platform ‘X’ (formerly known as Twitter), Sheldon alleged that he was invited to the event with a pre-scripted role: to ask Mahama a prepared question.
In his post, Sheldon revealed that he rejected the invitation after being told he would have to stick to a pre-approved question. Instead, he opted to play FIFA, refusing to play by the event organizers’ rules. “You know what’s funny about this? They invited me for the Bukom thing on condition that they would give me the question to ask JDM… said it’s either my personal questions or nah… be like they weren’t interested in that so I played FIFA,” Sheldon posted.
Sheldon’s bombshell claim has cast a shadow over the authenticity of Mahama’s youth engagement, raising questions about whether the former president had prior knowledge of the questions he was asked. This accusation also throws doubt on Mahama’s recent media engagements, where he was widely praised for his openness to being questioned by journalists.
The YouTuber, however, stopped short of naming the individuals who extended the invitation to him with these specific conditions.
As of now, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has not issued a response to Sheldon’s allegations. With these claims now out in the open, the pressure is mounting on Mahama’s team to address the situation and clarify the true nature of the event.
