Joseph Yamin, National Organizer-NDC

In a surprising disclosure, Alhassan Tanoso, a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has raised allegations about a clandestine tribal plot aimed at regaining the Techiman South seat from the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

According to Alhassan Tanoso, this alleged conspiracy is not only politically motivated but also represents a significant struggle for the freedom of settlers residing in Techiman. He claims that the opposition party can only win the seat back if they resort to inciting tribal sentiments against the indigenous population.

Techiman South is a constituency with a substantial population of settlers. Alhassan Tanoso asserts that there is a plan in motion to regain control of the seat by pretending to be in harmony with the indigenous people until Mohammed Binladen, the former Constituency Election Director, completes his law studies in the Gambia. The Techiman South Organizer suggests that the NDC is willing to make significant sacrifices, including manipulating the indigenous population, to secure victory in the constituency. He even mentions the possibility of striking agreements with the Chiefs.

The NDC Organizer discusses their strategy to outperform Martin Adjei Mensah-Korsah and the NPP, describing it as a scheme with questionable intentions.

Techiman, located in the Bono East region, has historically been a fiercely contested constituency, with tensions between the indigenous population and the settlers in the past.

However, this recent revelation suggests that the conflict has entered a new phase.

Although Alhassan Tanoso has not presented solid evidence to substantiate these claims, he asserts that his information comes from reliable sources within the party.

This information was revealed during a telephone conversation between Alhassan Tanoso and Ntatu, a serial caller, where they discussed various matters, including the controversial publications by Nuhu Fawaz’s sponsored voice audio recording radio station called ‘Nokware FM.’

It is crucial for authorities to promptly and impartially investigate the truthfulness of these claims. The focus should be on encouraging dialogue, fostering understanding, and safeguarding the rights of all individuals involved to prevent any further deterioration of the situation in Techiman South.
